Weekend Adventure...

Another weekend has been and gone
This weekend's main adventure was camping...

Now I have been camping before but not for the past 10 years...
I didn't really know if I would enjoy the experience,
But I thought that I would at least give it one go.

So here are my thoughts on camping...

PROS:
*Relaxing
*Nature
*Random conversations
*BBQs
*Laughter
*Friends
*Falling asleep to the sounds to the waves
*Camp fires: building a nice big campfire pit
*Friendly fellow campers, especially the ones that offer us some of their freshly caught fish
*Beaches: swimming in the ocean for the first time in about 8 years
*Sleeping in tents: This reminds me of my childhood, and camping in the back yard in tents with my brothers and sisters.

CONS:
*I can't cook potatoes in a fire.
*Bugs and spiders
*Mosquitoes: hate them with a passion!
*Rocks... climbing over rocks bare foot in search for a better beach... just tell Kat NO!
*Sand... it's great to walk on, but then when your wet it gets everywhere.
*Freezing cold ocean, little bit warmer would have been great.
*Smoke: coming home feeling like camp fire smoke.
*No Showers, oh how I really wish we had a shower.
*Drop Toilets... they stink and when people tell you never to look down... trust them 110%... NEVER LOOK DOWN! Hello nightmares for weeks!

Do Again:
*Take Ipod player
*Go swimming
*Make a big breakfast (Bacon, eggs, mushrooms, hash browns, tomatoes)
*Take Kat's Dad's car again... it has a fridge
*Make the drive fun... beat... 50+ waves, 5 head nods, 1 thumbs up, 1 smile, 1 beer up.
*Take a first aid kit... Kat will need it again.
*Be nice to fellow campers!
*East Coast of Tasmania is the best place to camp.

Things To Remember For Next Time:
*Take more water
*Try not to go in school holidays, there are so many people camping around that time.
*Bring heaps more friends.
*When Kat says the ocean is not that cold... it's cause she can no longer feel her legs due to the freezing water.
*Try not to smoke out the neighbouring campers... take notice of the wind direction before setting up a campfire.
*Hammer... rocks work but not as easy and as well as a hammer
*Firewood... Easier and safer then big branches
*Camping shower... oh how that would have been nice
*Camping mattress... sleeping with a yoga mat and a sleeping bag between you and the ground is not always comfortable.
*Card games & Board games... good way to pass the time.
*Hammock... that would have been so relaxing.
*NEVER LOOK DOWN!!!

Would I go camping again...
YES!

So any advice for me??

Excitement!!

I am super excited!
Today, after some hunting for cheap flights my sister has agreed to come for a visit next month.
And she is bring my spunky, handsome 8 month old nephew with her!

Oh i can not wait!
I have that they live so far away,
I miss having cuddles with them,
Watching him crawl and play games with them.

I can't wait to see him play with his little cousin Zoe,
Last time they saw each other E was only little.
Will be so much fun to see them together again.

I think I either to to kidnap him or move to Queensland!
Bring on the 15th of Feb for cuddles!

Well I am off camping tomorrow,
So there will be no post from me
Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!
Be back soon!!

The weekend...

Thoughts from this weekend...

Stop worrying about the future,
Live in the moment.
Be the best that you can,
And always improve yourself.
Continue to learn.
Never settle for anything less then extraordinary.
Trust that the Lord has a plan for you.
Be thankful for the people in you life,
No matter how short of a time they are in your life for.
Believe that your hope and dreams can come true,
Know that you are worth the very best.

This weekend was awesome,
I was good because of the small things,
And for the time to reflect.

It amazes me how quick children grow,
My niece is gorgeous, love her to bits!

Letters in the mail make me smile from ear to ear.
What could be better then someone taking the time to write a letter to you,
Even better when it's your best friend.

Comments and advice from an amazing friend,
At the right time and straight to the point.

Fresh flowers from market
YUMMY Cake Shake!
The finished Halloween gingerbread house!

How was your weekend??

Happy Weekend!!!

Thank goodness it's Friday!
Wow, today was so busy at work,
And the next two weeks are going to be just as busy!

But I am glad it's the weekend because...

I have just purchased one of Elise's Christmas mini books!
Check it out...

I also have this project to work on over the weekend for Halloween on Monday night...

Tonight me and my flat mate Lisa did a random package of goodies drop to our amazing friends Kat.
I love dropping little surprises off at people's doors!
It'll bring a smile to anyone's face!

Other plans for this weekend include...
  • Head to the markets tomorrow and buy some fresh flowers.
  • Read a letter that arrived at m parents place, which Dad is dropping off to me.
  • Organising my room... oh so over due.
  • Doing some reading, have kinda been in a funk lately and not reading, i'm have the craving to read in the sun! Fingers crossed for some good weather.

What do you have planned for your weekend??

Saturday...

Today was a interesting day.

After spending the morning studying in the sun,
Kat came over to go to yoga,
But we got distracted with a discussion and decided to skip yoga and just go for a walk.
The location we decided on was a near by beach.
When we got there we were mucking around on some play equipment...

Which ended soon after with...
Me spraining my ankle... Fail!
Should have gone to yoga, most likely would have been safer!

So my saturday night was spend at home on the couch icing my ankle.

Til I got bored.

I found these...

And decided to blow a few up...

Then a few more,
Needed a location to put the balloons,
So I decided to store them in my flat mate Lisa's room...
While she was at work...

I enlisted the help of Cinta....
She's the hand in the middle of the balloon...
We decided to have a bit of fun and hide her in the middle for when Lisa got home.

We then waited... and waited for her to get home.
45 mins later...

I had filmed her first reaction to the balloons,
But this one was better..
This was her reaction to finding Cinta....
(Sorry for the video quality)
-She tried to make me stop recording...I don't think so! I knew what was going to happen!-

Finished with Lisa and Cinta covered in balloons!

Can u spot them in the balloons?

Evening wasn't so boring after all!
Never boring living here!

Sunny Morning...

Sun is shining,
Not a cloud in the sky,
Love days like this!

Laying in front of the window while I do my prep for my lesson tomorrow at Church.
Hopefully the rays of sun will give me some inspirations, as I am kinda lacking at the moment.
I feel really unprepared, and I hate that feeling!
I like to be organised and know what I am doing.

So today, this is where I can be found,
Until I head off to yoga,
If i don't have anything by then, well I at least hope that yoga will be able to clear my mind,
So that I can come up with some form of plan for the lesson...
And i'll also try not to freak of at the fact that I am not organised at all!

What has everyone else got planned for their weekend???

Weekend in review...

Friday:
Straight after work I had a date with my Chiropractor, things are going well between us, it's still a love hate relationship but we are slowly working out the problems.
In all seriousness, I am now fully converted to using a Chiro, at first I didn't think that he could actually make a difference with my back, BUT! I was wrong, my back is nearly back to what is normal for me, I will never be totally pain free, back he has nearly gotten it back to what I can normally ignore.

After Chiro I met up with Kat and we picked up Chelsea and headed off to a BBQ with friends, oh how I love BBQ's and it means that summer is nearly upon us YAY, many more BBQ's to be had!
After the yummy dinner we moved locations on to Kat's place, where she had turned her lounge room in to a amazing cinema. Where we all watched 'The Zoo Keeper'. It was a alright movie.

Saturday:
Awesome day, good food and drinks, Salamanca markets, window shopping, fresh flowers, relaxing evening and baking and fun times.

Sunday:
After struggling all week with a chest virus (lots of painful coughing) I spent most of the day sleeping, trying to get energy back and to get over this stupid thing! I have a feeling it is going to take a while to shake the cough.
Then we had the missionaries over for dinner, followed by some good and interesting conversations with friends. We then all moved location to go and meet up with more friends at Ness's house for a games night.
And to finish off the weekend, I'm currently laying in bed, about to go to sleep and listening to the rain...perfect way to fall alseep.

All up... it was a awesome weekend!! Looking forwards to this week as I only have to work a 4 day week as we have a public holiday here on Thursday! YAY!!

What did everyone get up to with their weekends?

It's The Weekend!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekends,
My week end so far has been good,
Full of fun, friends, family, service and laughter.

Tomorrow I am teaching for the first time at church...
I am teaching a relief society lesson...
I'm not too keen on the whole public specking things,
But I feel prepared, feeling calm, and I know the spirit will be there to guide me.

Life is never boring and I love the little things in life that make is all the more better!

Enjoy your weekend and make the most of it!

Bring on the weekend...

Sure I know what your most likely thinking... hang on the weekend has only just finished, how can I be hanging out for the weekend already when the new week hasn't even started.

That is because I have three thing to look forward to this weekend...

1:
Friday night I fly out to Melbourne with the YSA to go to the Melbourne Temple. It going to be an awesome day on Saturday to spend time with the YSA in the amazing temple.

(Who wouldn't want to spend time in a building this beautiful!)
2:
I begin 2 weeks holidays. My mum is having shoulder surgery on the 30th so taking time off to help her out and because I have medical appointments and test to do in regards to my back as its not getting better and my CT scan show up some concerning things.

3:
The most important things that I am looking forward to is having my sister down!! YAY. She's coming down for my mum surgery and to spend christmas at home. Can't wait!! We have so much planned and I'm looking forward to spending time with just my sister and no one else. Haven't done that for a while and lately we have been getting a lot closer.

Wishin' it would never end...

This is where I am spending my weekend, all day long, under the shade of an umbrella with a nice cool wind, headphones in with my ipod play random tunes, reading a good book- currently reading "The Choice" by Nicholas Sparks (loving it, can't put it down).

Enjoying my thoughts and relaxing, blocking out the world and the stresses of life and just enjoy my weekend and taking time for me. How better to spend my weekend, I wouldn't rather it any other way. Just wishing that the weekend would not end.

Hope you two are having an awesome weekend.
