Snuggie Prep

To begin the next project- the Snuggie, Mum needed to see one to suss out what the pattern for mine needed to be like.

As we were shopping on Monday we came around some Snuggie in Chickenfeed for $7.99! Bargin, so we purchased one so that we had one to go off of. Sure it wasn't the best quality but the good thing is that Mum thought it was great! So it's now hers.

Even Dad likes it! He tried it on last night but didn't say much about it. Then when Mum and myself got home last night he was there sitting in the lounge room with it on! Lucky Mum got me to pick him up one of his own today!

Work Goodies!

My work place give the best goodies! Yesterday we go a little party pack to celebrate 2 years since MBF merged with BUPA!

This was such an awesome pack! and sooo Yummy!

Learning something new...

At work at the moment we're all learning somethings new, something big, something great!

But let me just say one thing.... MY BRAIN HURTS!!! I can't get my head around STUPID claims! All the rest I have learnt by doing it on the trainning program, haven't actually done the reading, but with claims it looks like i'm going to have to do the reading and work out the kinks!

Wish me luck....

BTW... this pile is so much better then this photo does justice!

Happy Ever After!

At the beginning of this month, I had the honour to be invited to go up to Sydney to witness and share in Lauren and Marks special day.

Lauren and Mark were married on Wednesday 2nd June 2010, on friday the family and close friend gathered to celebrate their marriage.

I had the honour of being able to travel to the temple with the bride and with Erin- Brides maid, Auntie Christ- Mother of the Bride. Of course the bride around perfectly on time... bride time that is- Late. While Lauren and Chris went into the temple, Erin and myself waited in the lobby at the front. It was quiet and peaceful, with the rain falling outside, the day was still a beautiful day, I was able to see Mark- Lauren husband, waiting patient for his Bride to come out dressed in her wedding dress, he was so excited to see his wife in her wedding dress for the first time.

The highlight of my day was seeing Lauren walking out of the temple, she looked so happy and amazing, more beautiful then words can explain, then i looked over to Mark, the look on his face was priceless, it was the look from both of them was the awesome love that they have for each other.

The rest of the day was awesome, after family photos it was time for the bridal party to depart for photos, we all jump into three cars and headed off to different locations around sydney and getting drenched along the way.

The reception was awesome with a amazing cake and yummy food.

The happy couple then departed the next day for their 7 days cruise of the Caribbean, then moving straight to Cananda to start their new life as a marriage couple!

Going to miss you heaps Lauren! Hope all your dreams come true for the both of you!

They even made it into the Sydney Morning Herald!

Sewing Bug

So now that I have started sew, I am really enjoying it! I am defenitly my mother's daughter!

Let me show you what my first few projects....

On Saturday when Mum and I went to Spot like theses are the few items we came out with...

The top two fabrics, the pink and blue along with the buttons are to make Wheat Heat Packs and the bottom blue one is to make a 'Snuggie'!

The first project to tackle was the heat packs....

Draw up a pattern and cut it out...
Cut the fabric out...

Sew the cover up and the wheat bag...
Fill wheat into bag...

Add buttons...
DONE!!

For it's now official I now own a sewing machine and I can actually sew!

Here are some projects I have planned next...

Baby bean baby- for my sister, for when my little niece is born.

This little fella is soo cute!

Still hunting for some more little projects I can do.

Like Mother Like Daughter...

This Saturday me and my mum went to Spotlight, I wanted to make some wheat heat packs.
Well ok so to be honest, the plan really was for me to buy the supplies and to sweet talk mum into sewing them for me as I actually don't know how to sew at all! I have never sewn a thing in my life!

Now about 2 or 3 years ago Mum decided that she was going to buy each of us four girls a sewing machine each, her way of passing down her heritage and teach us her talent and passion of sewing to her daughters.
Well my sisters got theirs at the time that Mum made this decision, but me... well, I've never shown a interest in sewing. Never had the patience for crafty type stuff. So Mum said she would buy me one when I started to show interest.

So while we were in Spotlight, I started to warm up to the idea and we picked up a few different things to start on. While waiting in the check out Mum noticed that there was 20% off sewing machines so she went to have a look.

We walked out of the store with this....

Isn't she a little cutie! (Note: "Sew Fun".... Just a reminder in case i ever forget!)

Two generations!

And guess what... i'm actually really enjoying it! Now just need some more project ideas!

Snail Mail

Snail mail... Post cards and letters, love them both and kinda addicted to them at the moment.
Every place that I travel to, every trip that I take i collect a post card. But it's even better when people send me them from their trips! I love collecting them, and they then live on my wall above my desk.
Other the post cards, I also love letters, i love how both of them are so much more personal then a email or a text message.

Wicked!

Long before Dorothy dropped in, two other girls meet in the Land of Oz.

One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two unlikely friends end up as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good makes for the most spellbinding new musical in years.

WICKED!
While in Sydney for Lauren wedding, I was finally able to go and check out Wicked- the musical! I have been waiting for ages to go and see this musical, and it lived up the the hype.
It was amazing!!! The set was so detailed and awesome, the actors were fantastic! They are all so talented!

For those of you that haven't had the chance to go and see this live on stage...

MAKE SURE YOU DO! You won't regret it!

Crush!

So yes that's right, I have a CRUSH! Let me introduce you to the HUNK that is welcome to my heart...

This is Mr Gerard Butler! His Scottish (YUM). And seriously how could you NOT love him after seeing some of the movies that he is in... such as... "The Ugly Truth", "The Phantom of the Opera", "300"-(one word WOW) and if none of those movies couldn't make you fall in love with this man then you need to watch my favourite of his movies... "P.S. I Love You", who could turn down him after that movie! Hello he can sing!

Sure he maybe 17 years my senior but I'm will to over look that fact. Who could turn his man down? Seriously? Oh well I will happily have him all to myself!

Book of the moment...

Back in late October last year my flat mate Lisa did a blog entry of about an amazing little girl named Elena Desserich. Elena was 6 years old when she died from brain cancer. The blog entry about Elena touched my heart.

Last week I was on my lunch break and shopping with my Mum, while in Big W, I walked past a Discounted table of a range of different products, out the counter of my eye I noticed a book sitting underneath a child's toy. I picked up the book and recognised it straight away. 'Notes Left Behind'.

As soon as I made sure that this was the book that I was thinking of I knew I had to buy it and read the story of this amazing little girl.

So my book of the moment is "Notes Left Behind". I've only just started to read the book, and already i know that this book is going to require a box of tissues at my side while I read it.

I'll let you know my review of the book once I have finished reading it.

Movie of the moment...

I am head over heals for this movie at the moment!
It comes out on the first of July and i can't wait to buy and watch heaps of times over!
My favourite character in the movie was "the mad hatter" aka Johnny Depp.
I am a HUGE fan of Johnny Depp!

Song of the moment...

Miley Cyrus - Can't Be Tamed
Lovin' this song at the moment!
Never really been a big fan of Miley, but this song is up beat and a bit more rougher then the normal Miley song.
All up I love it and it makes me wanna dance!
